The regular meeting of the Board of Directors’ of the Cincinnati Musicians’ Association was called to order on March 31, 2014 at 5:44 PM.
All members were present.
The minutes of the March 17, 2014 were approved as submitted.
GOOD STANDING FROM OTHER LOCALS
- The clarinet auditions were held this past Tuesday. There were six finalists but no one was selected. The next audition for this position will be bumped back to next season. Matthew Ernst will be hired for the principal trumpet position.
- The organization continues to be in a state of flux. President Paul Frankenfeld submitted a letter calling for increased player involvement. Paul has requested a copy of their financials but to date that request has not been fulfilled. He would like to see how the financial deficits occurred.
- CCO Board Members have been discussing a wide array of topics ranging from changing the name of the organization to going to a festival concept that could be held at the end of August and beginning of September beginning in 2015.
I. Social Media/Professionalism
- It was brought to the attention of the Board that there have been a couple of situations where members of the Local have been disseminating false information (rumors) and/or disparaging remarks about other members or even musical organizations. If any member has any question or concern about the Local they can always attend a meeting or come to the office for information. Social media etiquette should be discussed. President Frankenfeld will be including an article in the next issue of ‘Overtones”, reminding members to use discretion with social networking.
